Re-topology
13:10I don't know what it is, but there's something about re-topology that sucks up aaaaaaaall of my energy. I retopologized most by hand but some I was able to just use ZRemesher to do it quickly.
I soon realised it was very likely I'd be going over the 15k tri limit we had so in anticipation I emailed a tutor about getting extra tris to work with and was given a further 2500. Its very lucky I did because I only just managed to get it under...
The topology still needs a little cleaning up but its pretty much done now. One of the issues I ran into was the small details I added:
I did a very (very) quick flat map and bake just to get an idea of how well the bake would work and I achieved the above which I was pretty content with. The only problem is the beads that dangle down from the headdress are very difficult to re-topologize without spending a lot on them so I decided to just take them out and add them in to my portfolio version.
